Ashcombe Celebrate 30 years of volleyball with an awards  dinner and 2 tournaments in glorious weather

The Ashcombe Volleyball 6 aside Tournament is held on grass courts in beautiful  countryside, at Dorking Rugby Club, Brockham, under Box Hill, near Dorking, Surrey. Every year the team attracts over 100 teams of all standards to play and celebrate volleyball  together.

Saturday 1st July 2006 

A new 4 A-side tournament  in 2006 attracting 38 teams. The games were rushed through  in order to allow everyone to watch the England v Portugal World Cup game on the big screen in the clubroom at Dorking R.F.C., and although the result was disappointing, we still celebrated late into the night at the celebration dinner and Disco.

Celebration Dinner

A lovely evening of celebration of 30 years of Ashcombe Volleyball Club was completed when Colin and Freda Bussey were awarded a Champagne Balloon Ride by Club members as recognition of 30 years service to the Club. Other awards were given to:

Over 100 teams braved the blistering heat to play nearly 450 matches at The Big Field, Brockham, Dorking, Surrey. Cold drinks and Ice cream were the order of the day.
